Prof. Byron L. Zamboanga, Ph.D.
E.A.R.N. Lab Director
Dr. Zamboanga is a professor at the University of Arkansas and Director of the Examining Alcohol Reasoning and Norms (E.A.R.N.) Lab. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (Divisions 50 and 45) and was a Fulbright Scholar (Research) in 2020. He recently guest edited a special issue (“Predrinking and Drinking Games among Adolescents and Young Adults: International Perspectives”) for Addictive Behaviors and serves as a consulting editor for multiple referred journals in his field. He has also served as an Associate Editor for an American Psychological Association journal and has been a Guest Editor for multiple scholarly journals.
Biography
Dr. Z grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, then lived in the Midwest for 6 years, and afterward spent 17 years in New England. He has also spent time living in Manila, Philippines and Canberra, Australia, and he typically spends a good part of his summer living in Kona, Hawaii. He enjoys traveling (especially to Australia), working out, watching sports, eating baked flaming hot Cheetos, drinking diet Mountain Dew, and vegging out at home while watching television.
